Souplantation 99 Cents Kid’s Meal Coupons

I guess you can tell we go to Souplantation a lot, huh?  It’s one of the most affordable places a family on a budget can eat, and with 5 of us, we need to save all the money we can, because eating out can be costly.  The food is mostly healthy, and for the most [...]

Fritos For Breakfast

Okay, I’m publicly admitting it, and I’m ashamed to do so.  I’m letting Nick have Fritos for breakfast.  He came to me with the bag, a bowl, and a smile.  Of course, he already finished the bowl of blueberries I gave him, so Fritos aren’t the only thing he’s eaten for breakfast.

I’m finishing up a huge [...]

12 Things I Wish I Had Known When I First Became A Mom

Make A Healthier Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich

As a mother, I’m always looking for ways to make my kid’s food healthier.  Here’s my version of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Start off with 2 slices of 100% whole wheat bread.  This will provide a healthy dose of fiber.  The bread I use provides 5 grams of fiber per slice.  Two slices equals [...]

Beach Bunnies

I’m still recovering from our day at the beach.  Felicity didn’t get to pet any dolphins, but she still had a good time.  Chase couldn’t get enough of the water.  Other than getting knocked over by a few strong waves and having our food raided by a flock of seagulls, we really enjoyed ourselves.  None [...]

The Bottomless Pit Attacks Again

After about 15-20 strawberries (cut into quarters, so about 80 pieces of strawberries), 2 bowls of cereal, a bagel, a hand full of blueberries and some french fries, guess who is STILL crying like he hasn’t eaten in 5 days???!!  THE BOTTOMLESS PIT!!!!!
