For the first time since becoming a mother, I am reverting back to something I haven’t done since I was single: getting back on the corporate ladder. Not only am I getting back on the ladder, but I’m doing it at the same company as I did before. And out of all the buildings at the company’s location, I’m back in the same building on the same floor I was on when I left the company 10 years ago.
Yesterday I had orientation and today was my first day at the new job. And how did I spend my first day? Well, the cool thing about working in entertainment, is that your work revolves around — entertainment. So today I spent a good part of the day watching TV. How many people have TV’s at their desks and are paid to watch it? And to top it off, I also got to attend a screening at lunch time. Not too bad for a first day!
As for what I’ve done in the past month, aside from work, it’s mostly revolved around the kids. Chase had his field trip and Kindergarten graduation within 2 weeks of each other. Being room parent, I had to plan both. I had my last official duty as room parent this past Thursday when he graduated. I’ve decided not to be a room parent next school year because it’s too hard for me to keep up with doing that and working.
We had a good few days for Operation Clean Up the House a couple of weeks ago, but that all got shot with Chase’s graduation and my going back to full-time work. But Operation Clean Up the finances is now getting a huge boost.
