Happy Birthday to me!

Last week was my birthday and I got an early present — a new job!  Granted, it is only temporary — 2 weeks — but it is back at the company I was last working for and it’s paying 50% more than I was making before.  The new job is more interesting and a lot less stressful.  Too bad it will be ending this week.

On the upside, I am in the running for another assignment at this company.  One that will be more long term, and although it does not pay quite as much as my current position, it is still considerably more than the last position.  And my thinking is that the longer I’m working at the company, even in a temp position, the better my chances are of getting hired for a permanent position, as this company is big on promoting from within. 

So cross your fingers and say a prayer or two for me!
