About these three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Twilight was a story about vampires.
Second, there was a part of me that always did and always would abhor vampire stories.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with this vampire story.
Okay, I will admit I am a little late to jump on the Twilight bandwagon. After all, the movie only came out a few years ago, right? The book was released about 5 years ago, but I had never heard of it until all the hype and hysteria the movie created. And when I heard it was about vampires — poof! — kiss of death. So NOT into vampires.
Which is why I never saw the movie in the theater. Which is why I objected to Del renting it, despite the fact that “it was the only thing at the video store”. “Fine,” I told him, “Rent it. Just don’t expect me to watch it with you.”
Okay, I have taken exception to vampire stories before. I’ll admit, I watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel on TV, but mostly because they didn’t focus on the gore and creepiness of vampires, which I was absolutely sure any vampire movie would do. Especially one that people were lining the streets for. But this wasn’t just any vampire story — this was a vampire love story. Uh oh — did you say love story? Oh boy, I’m in trouble now. Once I realized it was a love story, I was hooked. I expected some sort of Dracula tale — what I got was a twist on Romeo & Juliet.
I have turned from an anti-Twilight fan into a Twilight addict . So much so that I actually made it to the theater to see Eclipse, the latest installment. So much so that I swallowed my pride and asked my 24-year-old co-worker if I could borrow her Twilight books. So much so that it’s all I can do to tear myself away from reading them.
Which reminds me, the kids are in bed – I might be able to knock out a few chapters before nodding off to sleep…

Cool Site, thanks for the info!!
