Product Review: Tissue Box Sox

How many of you out there cringe at the sight of a tissue box in your living room?  Let’s face it, no matter how well you decorate a room, or how many designs tissue companies come up with for their boxes, you’ll never find one that blends just right with the decor of your room, unless you buy one of those pricey box covers.  (A tissue cover at Restoration Hardware sells for around $50.  That’s a lot of money to spend for just a box of tissue.)  Enter Tissue Box Sox, from the makers of Book Sox.  At about $2.95 each with 12 different designs in 3 different sizes to choose from, Tissue Box Sox are a nice, inexpensive alternative.

I’ll be honest.  I had never heard of Tissue Box Sox before, so when the folks at Book Sox recently offered to send me one to try, I thought, “Why not?”  I thought we were all of out tissues, but to my luck, I was able to find a box tucked away in a closet.  I was skeptical at needing such a product, but now that I’ve tried it out, I’m hooked.  The Tissue Box Sox fit my tissue box as well as the Book Sox fit my daughter’s school books.  The design on the Tissue Box Sox is so much more attractive than the paisley attempt by Kleenex.  It blends in with my existing decor and has a slot wide enough to pull the tissues through.  It makes my tissue box look more like it is part of my decor instead of something hideous I am trying to hide.  No offense to the people at Kleenex, but some of the designs on the boxes are a little loud and tacky.

The product is made of the same material as the “Book Sox” and does a good job at masking the color of the tissue box.  If you look closely, you can see the faint outline of the design, but you really have to look for it.  Based on the durability of the Box Sox my daughter used on her school books this year, I would assume Tissue Box Sox to be the same.  The packaging says they are washable and reusable, although I have not tried washing mine yet.  With 3 kids, I’m sure I will be testing this out at some point.

So my opinion is two thumbs up for Tissue Box Sox.  No more hiding my tissue boxes!

But you actually made a subest that i usually care nothing about very interesting. This is a great blog to model mine after. I hope you don’t mind if i bookmark your site, so that i can easily find it again in the future. Cheers

  • I'm a mommy too!

What a neat idea. Those Book Sox are really a great idea. My granddaughter uses them all the time.

I haven’t tried the ones for the tissue box but it looks good.
