Good News

On Thursday, I got some really good news at work.  I got a promotion!  I was promoted to the supervisor of my department.  Lots more work, but also better pay.  It was totally unexpected, but such a welcome surprise.  But I’m busier than I’ve ever been!  Before the promotion, I could have conversations with my fellow workers, and eat a snack or two plus lunch.  Now I’ve been so busy I barely make it to the lunch room.  Forget a snack or a casual conversation.  I’ve got people coming up to me all the time with questions, needing me to sign off on things, and make decisions.  I remember when I first started, the person who occupied this position seemed to have all the answers to everything.  Now, it’s like, I’m supposed to be the one with the answers.  I hope I’ve got the right ones.

All I can say is that it’s been both rewarding and challenging at the same time.  Lots to learn, lots to prioritize.  Sort of like motherhood!
