Taking A Break ... Almost There!

I’m so close to taking a break I can almost feel it.  I had completed all my work projects and was all set to enjoy the holidays, when — you guessed it — I got called for another project.  I could hear Al Pacino’s voice in the back of my mind channeling my inner Michael Corleone, “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!”  It’s more money for us to spend on Christmas gifts, so I really couldn’t turn it down.  So here I sit, typing up 55 reports before I can finally, officially say I am taking a break.  That is, after I send out my Christmas cards.  Yes, I must be the only person in the world who has not sent out my cards yet.  If I get them out tomorrow, then half of them might actually get there on time, so that is my goal.  Of course, I have had that goal for the past week now, so you can see how well I’m doing on that.

Other than work, planning the Christmas party for Felicity’s class, and countless hours spent researching how to write up Trial By Written Declarations for the ticket I received, I haven’t time to do much of anything else.  I did send in my Trial By Written Declaration paperwork, which made me feel like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.  Now it’s just a game of wait and see.  The officer’s statement is due at 8:00 am January 15.  I’m hoping time will work against the officer, with this being the holiday season.  I’ll be checking the docket pretty much every day until then for updates.  Of course, she could decide to give me a Christmas present by not submitting a statement, which would mean my ticket would get dismissed.  Hey, I can hope, can’t I?

Okay, my self-imposed 5 minute break is now up, so it’s back to those reports!

  • I'm a mommy too!

I hope the officer that gave you the ticket has some remorse about it. Hopefully your ticket will be dismissed. Good luck!
