Today I became an aunt again. My brother, Ken, and his lovely wife, Kristy, are the proud parents of a brand new baby girl, Anna Charlotte. If only I wasn’t across the continent, so I could see her in person — although Ken’s done a good job getting lots of pictures of her. It’s Ken’s and Kristy’s first time as parents, so everything is fresh and new to them. I sometimes envy that feeling of innocence and wonder. Not that I would trade my kids for anything, but it would be nice to take things at a slower pace like you can when you’re a first time parent, with only one child to devote your attention to, not the full throttle 3 kid, three-ring circus we’ve got going on in our house. Funny, I think Felicity misses those times, too, when she was the center of my and Del’s world. There have been a few times when we’ve taken her out, while Del’s mom or aunt watches the boys, and Felicity always smiles, holds each of our hands, and comments, “Just like the good old days. Before the boys.” I miss it too, sometimes.
Congratulations, Ken and Kristy, as you navigate and experience the wonderment and joy that is parenthood!

Congratulations to Ken & Kristy on their new precious daughter. What a beautiful Christmas blessing they received with their beautiful little girl!
