When To Start Potty Training

I was recently asked when would be a good time to start potty training a child.  Depending on who you ask, it could be anywhere between 18 to 24 months or later, but the truth is each child is different, so it’s better to check whether or not your child is exhibiting signs of readiness.  Cues that your child [...]

The Bottomless Pit Attacks Again

After about 15-20 strawberries (cut into quarters, so about 80 pieces of strawberries), 2 bowls of cereal, a bagel, a hand full of blueberries and some french fries, guess who is STILL crying like he hasn’t eaten in 5 days???!!  THE BOTTOMLESS PIT!!!!!

Children’s Product Recalls: August 2009

There are so many children’s items that get recalled that I never hear about, so I thought it would be a good idea to keep a running list so us mothers can stay informed.  All information is taken from the US Consumer Product Commission web site (www.cpsc.gov).

Here is the list of recalls posted this month for [...]

A Night Out At The Movies

I can’t remember the last time I went out to dinner and a movie on a Friday night, but today, when a friend of mine called and asked if I was free, I took her up on her offer.  I rarely get to go out with friends, so this was a treat!  We went to [...]

No More Crib, Big Boy’s Beds

We finally took the plunge and moved Nick out of the crib and into the toddler bed, which means we also moved Chase from the toddler bed to the “big boy’s” bed.  Except for slicing the top of my finger on the bed frame, it went well.  Chase was ecstatic about his new bed.  I [...]

Product Review: Progressive Vegetable/French Fry Cutter

Go And Do Your Works

On finding Chase and Nick happily helping themselves to all the “good” stuff in Felicity’s room, I ask, “Are you boys having fun?”

Chase’s response?  “Yes, Mommy.  Now go and do your works.”

Nick Escapes From His Crib

So I sit down at the computer after an exhausting night taking the kids to our local Farmer’s Market.  Nick is crying but trying to settle down in his crib, while Felicity and Chase are in bed.  All of a sudden, the crying sound gets louder and sounds closer.  Yes, you guessed it — my baby boy is [...]

Recycling At Home

I don’t know how many of you moms are into recycling, but I am.  I first started doing recycling as a way to bring in some extra money.  I don’t make a ton of money doing it because I focus mainly on our family usage, but I do know of others who will scour neighborhoods and [...]
