We finally took the plunge and moved Nick out of the crib and into the toddler bed, which means we also moved Chase from the toddler bed to the “big boy’s” bed. Except for slicing the top of my finger on the bed frame, it went well. Chase was ecstatic about his new bed. I thought Nick would be happy to finally be on the toddler bed, but he was more interested in climbing on Chase’s new bed. Just can’t make the boy happy.
By the time we finished, we were too wiped out to try putting Nick down on the toddler bed and hoping he’d stay put, so we let him fall asleep in our bed and then took him to his bed. He slept there just fine — until 3:11 am, when I felt someone tugging on my hand. I was too bleary-eyed to take him back to his room, and honestly, I think he would have just gotten back out of the bed, so I brought him up on top of our bed, where he continued to squirm, roll around, and kick me in the face for I don’t know how long. I stopped looking at the clock after 4:42 am. At some point, we both ended up falling asleep.
You can see why the crib wasn’t cutting it anymore.

CHASE’S BEFORE AND AFTER
See ya, little boy’s bed.

Hello, big boy’s bed!

The looks on their faces tells it all!! You were just in time with the camera..what a little stinker Nick was!!
These are absolutely precious pictures!! I LOVE them.
Maybe you can put a gate up in the boys room. They have the vertical metal gates that have a door on them so Chase can open it but Nick can’t.
Sweet sweet pics.
The gate is a good idea, but since the boys share a room, I think Nick would make too much noise trying to get the gate open and then start crying because he was frustrated at not getting it open, which would eventually wake up Chase. Of course, that’s assuming he wouldn’t try to climb over the thing!
I hadn’t thought that Nick would get frustrated at not being able to open up the gate. Maybe someone else has an idea to share.
I keep coming back to this blog. The pictures are just priceless! You snapped the camera at the right time! The smiles on their faces are so cute.
What great pics!
My kids had their toddler beds and big kids beds too.
The only thing wrong with getting out of the crib…FREEDOM!!
I can’t help coming back to this blog. Nick is so determined to get out of his crib.
I like the expressions on their face when they got their new beds.
I hope Nick is staying in his bed and going to sleep now.
Wish me luck, I think my husband and I are going to try this next week! Love the top photo! I guess I can’t laugh yet, since we haven’t made the transition yet!
